Background
The Livingstone – Kazungula – Sesheke Railway project involves the construction of 200 km stretch of railway line from Livingstone to Sesheke district, running parallel to the border with Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia.
The project involves the rehabilitation of the Mulobezi line and the construction of a new line between Livingstone and Katima Mulilo via Kazungula to connect with Namibia’s Trans-Zambezi Railway Extension Grootfontein – Rundu – Katima Mulilo railway as part of the Walvis Bay – Livingstone – Lusaka – Ndola – Lubumbashi Corridor.
