Yapi Merkezi signed a $1.9 billion contract to build the 368-km Makutupora – Tabora section of Tanzania’s standard gauge railway project.
Yapi Merkezi signed a $1.9 billion contract to build the 368-km Makutupora – Tabora section of Tanzania’s standard gauge railway project.
Škoda Transportation will supply 17 complete sets of electrical equipment including main and auxiliary drives, battery chargers, traction motors, gearboxes and wheelsets.
The trains will run on the new 546-km SGR rail line from Dar es Salaam to Makutopora via Morogoro.
Tanzania has begun testing the electrical systems on the Dar es Salaam – Morogoro railway following the completion of a high-voltage transmission line.
